2024 20c Where is the Green Sheep - 20th Anniversary Special Edition Book with Coloured Coin
Here is the blue sheep
and here is the red sheep.
Here is the bath sheep
and here is the bed sheep.
But where is the green sheep?
The 2024 20c 20th Anniversary of the "Where is the Green Sheep?" Special Book Edition celebrates Mem Fox and Judy Horacek’s classic Australian children's book. Released by the Royal Australian Mint (RAM) in partnership with the Children’s Book Council of Australia, this special edition incorporates a commemorative coloured 20-cent coin built right into the front hardcover of the anniversary book itself
This was the first release in an ongoing commemorative series is a special collaboration between the Royal Australian Mint and the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA). It celebrates iconic Australian children's books, authors, and illustrators while promoting the joy of reading to young audiences.
The reverse design of the 2024 "Where is the Green Sheep?" 20c coin features a vibrant, colour-printed illustration explicitly created for the coin by the book's original illustrator, Judy Horacek. It depicts the popular "bed sheep" laying down and comfortably reading a red hardcover book. A large, multi-coloured thought bubble floats above the reading sheep, filled with smaller playful illustrations of various other sheep characters featured throughout the story.
