Selling Your Collection
Please book a private appointment and bring photo ID. For larger collections, email clear photos beforehand so we can advise appropriately.
We provide purchase offers during appointments. Formal written valuations for insurance or probate purposes can be arranged upon request.
No. We do not provide storage or custodial services for bullion or other assets. All purchases must be taken upon settlement.
Dealer pricing considers verified condition, liquidity, and resale potential. Online quotes may:
- Use outdated or generalized data
- Ignore condition, provenance, or authenticity checks
- Include listings that never actually sold
Bullion & Numismatics
We buy Australian and world coins, banknotes, gold and silver bullion, proof and mint sets, and quality numismatic collections.
We use professional testing methods to ensure items are genuine and fairly valued, including:
- Sigma electronic testing: Precision density and composition checks for metals
- Acid testing: For additional confirmation of gold and silver
This ensures accurate verification without relying on untested apps or online guesses.
eBay is a great research tool, but prices listed there often do not reflect real sale values. Common issues include:
- “Buy it now” listings that never sell at the listed price
- Condition exaggeration in photos
- Misrepresented or fraudulent items
- Hidden fees and shipping costs that reduce net value
Our prices are based on verified condition, market liquidity, and resale potential.
Coin value apps can be misleading because they often rely on photos and user-submitted data rather than professional testing. Limitations include:
- Metal content estimation: Photos cannot verify gold, silver, or other metals accurately.
- Condition grading: Wear, scratches, and cleaning are hard to assess via images.
- Rarity and provenance: Apps may misidentify coins or overlook key collectible factors.
- Market fluctuations: Apps may use outdated pricing or generalize across regions.
At Eureka, we use Sigma and acid testing alongside expert numismatic evaluation to provide accurate valuations.
Spot price is the global wholesale price of precious metals, quoted in troy ounces. Our pricing reflects:
- Spot price in AUD at the time of your appointment
- Premiums for processing, rarity, and market demand
- Currency fluctuations and international market activity
Spot price helps determine bullion value, but numismatic coins may carry additional collector value above metal content.
| Feature | Bullion | Numismatic Coins |
|---|---|---|
| Value Basis | Metal content (spot price) | Rarity, condition, provenance |
| Market | Global, liquid | Collector-driven, sometimes illiquid |
| Potential Return | Stable, small margins | Can outperform bullion if rare |
| Verification | Sigma, Acid, Weight | Grading, provenance, condition |
We do not offer refining or stamping services. We verify authenticity but do not melt, hallmark, or alter bullion in any way. All products must retain their original mint or refiner marks.
Stamps & Other Collectibles
Generally, no. The stamp market has declined significantly due to reduced collector demand and changing demographics. Modern or common stamps generally have limited resale value.
