Please read carefully before booking an appointment. We do not assess or purchase the following items under any circumstances:

  • $2 coins with “HH” initials
  • Circulated coloured $2 coins (including commemorative issues found in change)
  • Post-1966 circulated Australian decimal coins, including 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, $1 and $2
  • Loose modern circulation coins, including jars, tins, or bulk change
  • International base-metal coins from the 20th and 21st centuries (non-silver, non-gold)
  • Coins obtained during overseas travel with no precious metal content
  • Damaged or altered coins, including bent, drilled, holed, cleaned, painted, or modified pieces
  • Replica, novelty, fantasy, or tribute coins
  • Gold-plated or silver-plated items (plated, clad, layered, or coated)
  • Common world coins with no precious metal content, regardless of age
  • Modern base-metal commemorative or proof coins
  • Coins removed from original mint packaging
  • Tokens, medals, badges, gaming chips, or souvenir items
  • Heavily worn low-grade pre-decimal coins with minimal or no silver value
  • Coins promoted online as “rare” without recognised dealer or bullion demand
  • Certificates of authenticity without the coin
  • Circulated Australian polymer banknotes
