The 2013 Discover Australia 1oz Silver Proof Five-Coin Set, officially issued by The Perth Mint, celebrates iconic Australian wildlife in five striking coloured proof designs. Struck in 99.9% pure silver, each 1 oz coin weighs at least 31.135 g, has a diameter of 40.60 mm, and a thickness of up to 4.00 mm. The set includes representations of the Kangaroo, Koala, Emu, Kookaburra, and Platypus, all rendered in full colour by designer Ing Ing Jong. The obverse of each coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley likeness of Queen Elizabeth II with a face value of $1 AUD. With a declared mintage of 1,306 sets, this release is relatively scarce. The coins come in a presentation box with a timber lid, packaged in a stylised illustrated shipper, and include a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, making it an excellent addition for collectors of wildlife-themed or coloured silver proofs.
