2019 $1 Australia's Wild Colonial Bushrangers - "S" Mintmark 'Brave' Ben Hall Carded Coin
The 2019 $1 Australia's Wild Colonial Bushrangers "S" Mintmark coin is a highly popular collector coin issued by the Royal Australian Mint (RAM) as part of its three-year Colonial Australia theme. Subtitled "The Bold, The Bad & The Ugly," the reverse design by Aleksandra Stokic features a dramatic showdown between a bushranger and a colonial trooper on horseback, framed beneath the iconic silhouette of Ned Kelly’s helmet.
These were released in the 2019 $1 "The Bold, The Bad and The Ugly" Multi-Card Set from the Royal Australian Mint. While the individual $1 coin inside each blister pack shares the exact same design and "S" (Sydney) mintmark, the collection is uniquely sought after because the RAM issued the coin across five distinct, historical biographical presentation cards
- 2019 $1 'Brave' Ben Hall : Features the New South Wales bushranger known for leading one of the most prolific gangs of the mid-19th century.
- 2019 $1 'Mad Dog' Morgan : Dedicated to Daniel Morgan, one of Australia's most feared, erratic, and brutal outlaws who operated primarily in the Riverina district.
- 2019 $1 Captain Moonlite : Features the card for Andrew George Scott, an educated lay preacher turned notorious bandit who requested to be buried alongside his gang member.
- 2019 $1 The Kenniff Brothers : Commemorates Patrick and James Kenniff, dynamic horse and cattle thieves who are widely considered to be Australia's very last bushrangers.
- 209 $1 Captain Thunderbolt & The Captain's Lady: Highlighting Frederick Ward and his partner Mary Ann Bugg.
- 2019 $1 Moondyne Joe : Honours Joseph Bolitho Johns, Western Australia's legendary outlaw famous for his multiple clever prison breaks.
