2018 $2 ANZAC Lest We Forget - Eternal Flame RAM 5 Coin Bag
The 2018 $2 ANZAC "Lest We Forget – Eternal Flame" RAM 5 Coin Bag contains five uncirculated Royal Australian Mint commemorative $2 coins. Issued to honour the service and sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand military personnel. The coin features a central coloured graphic of an orange-yellow Eternal Flame surrounded by blue water tones, representing the Pool of Reflection at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra alongside the words "Lest We Forget" and "Eternal Flame". Presented in an official Royal Australian Mint swap bag, it is a popular collectible for ANZAC and Australian decimal coin collectors.
The Eternal Flame burns perpetually as an emblem of eternal life, it serves as a powerful tribute of national gratitude and continuous remembrance for the more than 103,000 Australian service members who have given their lives in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. The flame's bronze brazier (originally designed by Melbourne sculptor Les Kossatz) is positioned precisely at water level within the Pool of Reflection giving the impression that the fire is emerging directly out of the water. The courtyard surrounding the pool was designed by the acclaimed architectural firm Denton Corker Marshall. It sits beneath the open sky, framed by the arched cloisters housing the bronze panels of the Roll of Honour.
5-coin RAM Bag : A 5-coin RAM Swap bag is a sealed, uncirculated pack of five Australian $2 commemorative coins issued directly by the Royal Australian Mint (RAM) in a small, heavy-duty, clear plastic sachet featuring a prominent, repeating Royal Australian Mint logo printed directly onto the surface. The bags are heat-sealed at both the top and bottom at the factory. They cannot be opened without cutting or tearing the plastic, which guarantees the coins inside remain strictly uncirculated and the high-relief coloured designs protected from environmental oxidation, scuffs, and fingerprint oils.
