2014 1oz Royal Australian Navy Submarine Service Centenary Silver Proof Coin & Badge Set

On 24th May, 1914, the Royal Australian Nacy took delivery of its first submarines in Sydney, the two British-built E-class vessels HMAS AE1 and HMAS AE2, as part of a substantial upgrade of Australia's fledgling naval fleet. The reverse of the coin features a coloured representation of a submarine cruising thorugh the ocean, alongside the dolphins and crown that feature in the Royal Australian Navy Submarine Service ship's badge. It also carries the Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark. The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.

The enamel badge replicated the official Royal Australian Navy Submarine Service badge, featuring the same dolphins and crown emblem.
